Dallas, facts about Dallas

Dallas is one of the largest cities in Texas. It stands on the Trinity River in northern Texas and has a population of 1 200 000. Dallas is an important business center for the oil, insurance and clothes industries and for the agricultural region of the Southwest.

Electronics and aero-space industries both grew fast in the 1960's. In 1963, President John F. Kennedy was shot while being driven through Dallas in a motorcade. He died a little later in the Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas.
