Photography history information: color photography was not perfected until the 1930s. But black-and-white photography goes back as far as 1826, when Joseph Niepce took the first permanent photograph with an emulsion of bitumen. In 1839, Louis Daguerre and William Fox Talbot developed practical photographic processes. In 1888, George Eastman marketed a simple camera which amateurs could use, and photography became a popular hobby. The first miniature camera, the Leica, appeared in 1924. It used 35-millimeter film - the same size used today for movies. In 1947, Edwin Land introduced his Polaroid Land camera. This camera not only takes photographs but also develops and prints them in less than one minute.
